Restoration Church Reopening Plan

We launched our reopening plan May 31 and have been pleased to see the response both onsite and online. It has been wonderful to see the faces of those returning, but I have also been pleased that many have continued to faithfully join us on Facebook Live. We were recently awarded a generous grant to help us purchase the necessary hardware to continue broadcasting live every week. We hope those joining us through these means will continue to check in and share our gatherings with others.

More of Indiana will begin reopening the weekend of July 4, and we are excited to reopen more of Restoration’s ministries as well. Below are the details of Phase Two.

Phase Two – Beginning July 5

Two services: 8:30am or 11:00 will be available for all ages. No reservations are required, but we will ask that those present respect the space of others and we encourage safe practices of social distancing.

Nursery (Ages 0-2) and Wee Worship (Age 3 – going into Kindergarten) will be available in the 8:30am service only. We will be reinstating Children’s Church (for children going into 1st Grade – 11 years old) to both services. We will maintain social distancing within our children’s services as much as possible, but for families who choose to keep their kids with them, we will continue to provide some age appropriate activities during the sermon.

Sunday School classes are still suspended, but groups are encouraged to meet outside church hours as they can do so safely.

Online services to children and students will continue. Additional gatherings for these age groups may be offered but will remain outdoors where social distancing is enforced.

We will continue to broadcast the 8:30am service on Facebook Live and make a recording of the sermon available on YouTube by 3:00pm Sundays.

The following safety and sanitation procedures will continue:

  • The building will be sanitized each week and between services.
  • Greeters will open doors and offer a “touchless” greeting and take care to sanitize handrails, etc.
  • We will limit door handle use throughout the building.
  • Hand sanitizer is available at the entrances to the sanctuary.
  • Offering plates will not be passed, but will be available at the sanctuary exits.
  • Special care will be given to the serving of communion using prepackaged juice and bread.
  • The restrooms behind the sanctuary and in the children’s department will be available and sanitized after each use. Additional restrooms will be unavailable.

More information regarding the additional phases in the reopening will be made available as we progress through Phase Two.

We appreciate your great patience as we do our best to navigate reopening. If you are feeling ill, have a compromised health condition or are simply uncertain about returning, please understand that we fully encourage you in your decision to stay home and trust you will connect with us through the other means we are offering these days.
