Christmas is a time to celebrate the selfless gift God has graciously given us in Christ.

It’s also a time when America spends around $500 billion on Christmas gifts. That's more than $600 per person. This Christmas, we're taking a step back from spending in order to give more.

We have joined with others in the "Advent Conspiracy" and are resolving to be a part of the restoration of the true meaning of Christmas. Our desire is to...

  • Worship Fully
  • Spend Less
  • Give More
  • Love All

Jesus said, "For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in, I needed clothes and you clothed me... Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers of mine, you did for me." (Matthew 25:35-36, 40)

This Christmas we plan to give to Jesus by offering hope to the homeless men within our community.

mens warming center 2The Bedford Men's Warming Shelter was established in 2014 after a homeless man froze to death on a Bedford street. The usage of the Shelter has increased steadily over the past five years. During the 2018 winter season, 48 different men utilized the shelter totaling 1,053 overnight stays. Stays vary from one night to nearly every night.

The Shelter will be open this winter season from November 1 through April 30, 5pm-9am. Men are provided a warm and safe environment, evening and morning meals, a sack lunch upon departure in the morning, clothing, personal hygiene kits, shower facilities and laundry services. Additionally, the staff and volunteers assist the men to obtain necessary identification documents, search for employment, seek mental health or addiction counseling, and access needed vaccinations and medical and dental care. The Shelter's goal is to encourage long-term improvements in the lives of these men by helping them physically, emotionally, mentally and spiritually.

This Christmas we plan to raise the money to help the men of the Bedford Men's Warming Shelter.

Restoration Church has been faithful to provide supplies as well as Saturday night meals and volunteers, but this year we want to do more. We have a goal of giving $7000 this Christmas. This will specifically aid in the staffing of the Shelter.

While we cannot provide for the needs for the 5,200 homeless in Indiana, we have a strong confidence that we can do something for those within our community.

We believe Christmas can still change the world. Will you consider joining the conspiracy?

Thank you for your gifts to Jesus and "the least of these" this Christmas.
